A day at the races in Tasmania is a special experience! Tasmania's racing clubs have been welcoming guests to the races for over 150 years, in all corners of our beautiful island. With three codes of racing – Thoroughbreds (the gallops), Harness racing (pacing) and greyhound racing – there’s racing every week in the north, north-west and south. From our major summer carnivals including the Sky Racing Thoroughbred Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival featuring the Hobart and Launceston Cups, night gallops racing in Launceston, and harness and greyhound racing twice a week - there’s something for everyone. Whether it’s a family picnic, a work function, or just a chance to get a group of friends together for a day of great food, drink and a punt – racing in Tasmania has it all. With some of the most scenic racing locations in Australia, a day out at the races in Tasmania really is an experience to remember.
