TAG is a non-profit, non-political and pro-environmental citizens group. It is not wedded to any one solution. Short and long-term solutions are needed. 30,000 cubic metres (the equivalent of 7,500 dump trucks) are being added to the build-up of mud each year and nothing is being done about it. Traditional activities that started in the 1800s such as rowing, yachting, cruise boats are progressively being idled or squeezed out. Our city is becoming less attractive to both our local citizens and tourists. Whether the current management of the river is just stuck in the mud, or a single river authority needs to be appointed, as was originally promised, it’s time for a solution.
