The Launceston Players Society is one of the oldest community theatre companies in Australia. Since 1926 it has had an unbroken record of operation in the Northern Tasmania community. We are committed to supporting and encouraging talent and attracting new people to all aspects of theatre production. The Launceston Players is strongly committed to the safety and well-being of all children that interact with our organisation as employees, audience members, education program participants or otherwise by creating and maintaining a child safe environment. We are renowned for an amazing range of costumes which, as a community service, can be borrowed by other theatre companies and community groups for a donation or by negotiation. Over the years, the Players has staged everything from music hall to Shakespeare and continues to provide relevant and entertaining live theatre.
