CITY GEARING UP FOR A BUSY FESTIVE SEASON LAUNCESTON'S Christmas spirit is set to shine on Friday 25 November, with the lighting of the Christmas tree in the Brisbane Street Mall coinciding with late night shopping and Black Friday sales. "It's great to see so many businesses opening their doors into the evening to create a festive vibe in the city for what promises to be a bumper festive season," says Launceston Central City's Amanda McEvoy. "The lead-up to Christmas is looking really exciting for Launceston; retail vacancies are down again, and we've got a number of new businesses which have opened in recent months and which are all offering something different. "On top of this, there are an incredible 15 new hospitality businesses opening in the city this quarter alone."
